CodeIT Enterprise™ - 10 Steps to Success
We help manufacturers worldwide to leverage their data to solve traceability and achieve new levels of production automation. What we do helps our clients to save costs, increase efficiencies, generate value, and drive sustainability and profitable growth - year after year.
The CodeIT Project Implementation Plan.
1. Pre-Study
An initial feasibility study where the client is defined, their needs identified, the project's scope and objectives are clarified, the current situation is analyzed, benefits are highlighted, and the project structure established.
More2. Specification
Here a Functional Development Specification (FDS) is agreed. It provides the basis for how CodeIT Enterprise™ needs to be configured to meet the objectives set out in the pre-study (e.g., GUI, functionality, labels, codes, layouts, etc.), and how the integration with other systems shall be implemented. Client commitments are defined along with time estimation for the subsequent project steps.
Note: CodeIT Enterprise™ is a flexible and scalable software platform and set of services. Configurations can be changed before, during, or after commissioning. As such, the specification can be regarded as dynamic and can be updated through joint agreement at any time to accommodate new or changing needs.
3. Contracts
After the specification has been agreed, contracts defining the scope of work and subsequent support, payment, guarantees, etc. can be exchanged.
4. Configuration
This step includes simulation tests before extensive end-to-end tests on-site at the client. For the most part, this work is carried out on CodeIT's premises, but time is also spent at the client site for testing equipment, machines, sensors, etc. If the client so wishes, staff from the client are welcome to participate in this phase. Close contact with the client and with the client's relevant suppliers in the project is always maintained.
5. Testing
This step includes extensive end-to-end tests on-site at the client. Before the system is implemented, joint testing by CodeIT and the client is carried out to verify that the required features have been implemented and that everything is ready for installation. Testing integration with other systems is also carried out to ensure that data is handled correctly.
6. Installation
CodeIT Enterprise™ is installed at the client's site. Integration Services are configured and started up. In this step, all documentation, such as user manuals, guides, etc., is in the final stages of preparation. These are always tailored to each installation.
7. Go Live
When the system has been installed, and integration with other systems is functioning, the system is deemed to be in operation and fully functional. Before Go Live and commissioning can be carried out, all related equipment must be connected to the network and configured. The client's staff typically carries out this work. When commissioning is complete, the system is handed over to the client with all documentation, such as user manuals, guides, etc.
8. Hyper care
CodeIT provides follow-up to confirm that the project meets the client's needs. In our experience, operators and technical personnel need close monitoring for the complete installation for 1-3 weeks after commissioning. Such tracking is subject to agreement by all parties involved.
9. Training
Training and knowledge transfer are ongoing during the preceding steps. The final operator and administrator training is carried out when commissioning and handover are completed.
10. Lifetime Support
When the installation and commissioning have been completed, and operations commence in full, the project is handed over to the CodeIT Support Center (CSC). The Support Center is responsible for all technical assistance, configuration changes, support, updates and upgrades, spare parts, and any replacements needed during the installation lifetime. Standard agreements govern all support.
