AGV
In manufacturing, an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) is a driverless, mobile robot that transports materials, parts, and finished goods.
An AGV moves along predefined paths using sensors (lasers, cameras) or magnetic tape, automating logistics in factories and warehouses for tasks like moving components to assembly lines, taking away finished products, or supplying tools, significantly boosting efficiency and reducing labor needs. AGVs follow fixed routes, unlike more advanced AMRs, to deliver items precisely where needed, integrating seamlessly into production processes.
