New salmon factory on Iceland will use production traceability platform from CodeIT.

Salmon from Iceland.

Fiskifréttir, the Icelandic News and Media website reports that Micro ehf in Hafnarfjörður has signed an agreement with Arctic Fish ehf for the sale, production and installation of a complete sorting and packing line for the new Arctic Fish salmon slaughterhouse which is being built in Bolungarvík. The system is based on design and ingenuity from Micro and is one of the most perfect and productive that has been installed in Iceland.

Traceability by CodeIT.

To be able to offer a complete solution, and as Micro and CodeIT complement each other, earlier this year Micro invited CodeIT to be responsible for traceability in the new slaughter house. CodeIT has extensive experience and domain knowledge when it comes to salmon production, digitalization, and traceability. This will be the first installation on Iceland for CodeIT, and bring the number of countries where CodeIT Enterprise™ is used in salmon production as the traceability platform to 14 and the number of salmon production sites where it used worldwide to 26.
