Why We Built Our Marking Platform to Work Across Printer Brands
Equipment manufacturers in the marking and coding industry are increasingly building their own software to sell alongside their printers. We want to restate something about our own platform in that context: CodeIT's software has never been built around one printer brand, and that is not changing.
Software that comes bundled with a single printer vendor is usually built around that vendor's own equipment, and in some cases only works with that equipment. That makes things harder for a producer who already has marking and print equipment from more than one manufacturer on the floor, or who wants to choose new equipment based on what works best for them, not because the software demands it.
Our platform for marking, OEE monitoring, and traceability was built the other way around. It sits above the equipment layer and connects to the printers and systems a producer already has, instead of requiring a specific brand. In practice, that means nearly every major printer brand on the market today, not strictly every single one, but the large majority.
For you as a producer, that independence means a few concrete things. You are not locked into one vendor's equipment roadmap. You can add or replace a printer because it is the right machine for the job, not because it happens to run software you already use. Most factory floors are not built in one go either. They get assembled over several years, often ending up with equipment from different eras and different manufacturers side by side. We connect it, so you do not need a separate system for each machine.
