🟠 CodeIT Turns 15: Built on Conviction, Grown Through Trust
On April 1, 2011, CodeIT AS was officially established. Fifteen years later, the company has grown into a global provider of production management and data solutions. Without external financing and without losing sight of what started it all.
Where it began
The story begins long before 2011. Founder Bjørnar Torsnes spent years in senior roles in industrial coding and marking, overseeing Nordic operations.
Serious incidents in the food industry taught him something he never forgot: correct identification and traceability are not technical details. They are matters of responsibility.
While the industry focused on hardware, Torsnes became convinced the real differentiator would be software, data, and integration. Traceability does not begin with a machine, it begins with identity.
Following conviction
That conviction led him to start his own company, building solutions alongside customers who shared his approach. The company grew and eventually became part of a larger group. But over time, the distance from customers and core values grew too wide. When the opportunity came to buy the business back, Torsnes put everything on the line. Not because success was guaranteed, but because it felt right.
15 years of steady growth
Since that day in 2011, CodeIT has grown steadily. Many of the people who were there from the beginning are still part of the team today. Customers return not because of promises, but because of what they actually experience.
"What gives me the most satisfaction is not just the milestones," says Torsnes. "It is the work we have built together as a team. What matters is that we show up for one another and take responsibility when it counts. That team is our true asset."
Looking ahead
Torsnes hopes CodeIT will remain driven by the same curiosity and integrity that shaped its beginnings. A company that earns respect not just for its solutions, but for how it follows through.
